About

Hi, and welcome to it's MIRABILIS!

It's Mirabilis stams from 'Annu Mirabilis', latin for 'a year of wonders; wonderful year'. It naturally became the name for this blog, as the start of this blog marks the end of quite an amazing year in which I went on exchange in Singapore, did my first internship and learned a lot about myself. Another annu mirabilis, that is what I want to achieve, not only for this year, but also for the many more to come. That is why I deleted the 'annu' from the classic saying. Why strive for a wonderful year, when you can strive for a wonderful life?

It's Mirabilis. It's wonderful. It's amazing. It's extraordinary.

So who am I?

As you can see in the infographic below - which costed me way too much time - my name is Sanne. I was born and raised in the country of tulips, cheese, and windmills, where I currently also work on obtaining my bachelors degree in communication and media. In the weekends you can often find me across the border in Germany, aka the home country of my boyfriend. And whenever I get the chance you will find me anywhere else on the planet, as I love to move around. I am addicted to stationairy, chocolate raisins and tea. I am curious, creative, and I believe in living in line with your own values. For me that means no meat Monday everyday, hugging trees whenever possible, and being careful with resources.

Don't I know you from somewhere?

*Busted* I used to blog under the name of Dutch Beauty. As the creative genius I was, I came up with the name Dutch Beauty when I was twelve. I decided I liked reading about beauty and I would write in both English and Dutch (to set me apart from the other beauty blogs; little did I know), hence, Dutch Beauty was a logical consequence. However, I quickly noticed the limits of Dutch Beauty, as this blog quickly became way more (or less, you decide) than a beauty blog.

So, what can I expect to find at it's Mirabilis?

  • The outfits I wore and liked.
  • My attempts to preparing (plant-based) food.
  • Travel guides and travel wishlists.
  • Lessons from my favorite books, documentaries, and TEDtalks.
  • Beauty tips that work.
  • Many lists (I love lists) of things that make me happy (because why not?).
  • Places that sell the best coffee, and other hotspot tips.
  • Awesome people that inspire me, like bloggers, fashionistas or people who spoke wisely.
  • Creative outbursts, most likely photography or DIY's.

Cheers to an annu mirabilis, and many more to come!

Love,

Sanne
